Nothing much has happened.  Annie moves from bed to sofa and Chris has been taking me out most of the time.

Wednesday was a sad day because when Chris and I went for our walk in the evening I lost my favourite ball that I had brought form home with me.  We tried to retrace our steps and find it but I was pretty exhausted so we gave up and went home.  On the way home, we found a stray Jack Russell so Chris phoned the number on his collar so that his Family could come and pick him up.

Annie went to the doctors yesterday and left me sunbathing in the front garden.  I got a bit bored so I went for a swim so I was all wet when she came home.  That will teach her!

We all went for a walk last night and Annie found me some good sticks.  I still miss my favourite ball though!

I must stop now as Annie is waiting to brush me and then I need a nap.

Tuesday, 12 March 2013

It's Tuesday and I've been here nearly a week.  Chris and Annie are both ill, Chris has man flu and Annie spends the entire day coughing, sniffling and sneezing [when she's not asleep on the sofa].

For the past 2 days Chris has taken over the jobs of feeding me and taking me for walks. I have developed a way of looking at him to show him that he's now my favourite.

I still tease Annie when she tries to pick up my ball and I did dribble all over her Kindle because I wanted to show her that I still cared but I am so happy when Chris is around because he is the one who does the things I like.

Making sure that he doesn't leave the house without my knowledge

If Annie wasn't so busy burying her nose in her hanky, she might take more notice of me and then she could be my favourite again.

Sunday
Not feeling too good myself this morning, I think I had swallowed a few bits of tennis ball in the excitement of watching the rugby last night.

Cheered up after breakfast and a walk, though.

Chris and Annie went out and left me in a shady bit of the garden.  The guard came to sit with me while we ensured the house [and my remaining bits of tennis ball] were safe from intruders.  I think he wanted to play with my ball, but no way!

Later when Chris and Annie returned we all sat on the terrace, drinking tea, reading papers and chewing a bone.  [They had the tea, I had the bone].

A walk, supper and an evening watching TV.  Not too exciting!  But I am pretty tired and really had to drag myself out for my evening pipi.  I was FORCED out and not allowed back in until I'd done it.

Monday
Really wet, raining and cold. Chris and Annie seem to think that it is reasonable for me to play with my ball in the garden instead of going for a walk.  I think I made it plain that I do NOT fetch wet balls.  Annie has a cold so I followed her around while she did the housework, making comforting noises and looking longingly at the bag containing my treats.  She misunderstood and brushed me [while sneezing all over me].  While brushing -rather vigorously I must say - she explained to me that she will soon be well as it's just a cold, not a man's cold which is apparently much worse and can make you very grumpy.

Back to my bed until the rain stops.  This was a pretty boring day as Annie slept most of it.  Chris took me for a nice walk though.

Saturday, 9 March 2013

Annie got up early to let me out and then went back to bed again.  Boring!!  I huffed and puffed in their bedroom until they got the message and got up.

After my breakfast we went out for a walk to a local cafe so Chris and Annie could have their breakfast.  I laid down guarding my ball and lots of people came by and said that I was a lovely dog.  I wagged my tail at them all but I wouldn't let them have my ball, regardless of their kind comments.  I was very well behaved and ignored all the dogs barking at me as we walked by their houses.  [I wonder if they were after my ball!!!]

When we got home it was time for a swim in the pool and then I had a major brushing.  When Annie got tired, Chris took over.  By then I needed to have a lie down to get over all the excitement.

It was jolly hot today so we all slobbed around all afternoon and after my afternoon walk and my supper I collapsed on the floor in an exhausted heap.

Annie wasn't feeling too well so she went to bed early leaving me and Chris for some 'male bonding time'.  Great, a doggie treat and a choice of football, golf, cricket and rugby.

Friday, 8 March 2013

Friday didn't start so well as Annie went out and left me with the maid, who kept moving me so that she could clean underneath me.  In the end I went in the garden and sulked for a bit.

At lunchtime Annie told me we were going for a picnic.  Great fun!  We went to the park and put all the food on a tablecloth on the grass and I was on my best behaviour and laid next to the cloth to guard the food.  I took my ball and I looked after that really well.  I even tried to keep it in my mouth when Annie gave me some doggie treats but in the end I had to put the ball down while I ate them.  We were there for hours and I made LOADS of new friends.  It was nearly dark when we went home.  I had to leave my ball at the park because it was chewed to bits!!

I slept really well all night long, now that I have my new ball close by me.   No one can creep up and steal it while I'm dozing.
Yesterday [Wed] I came to Annie and Chris's for my holidays.  I was quite sad to say goodbye to my Family but it was interesting to have a new garden to sniff around.  I spent a quiet couple of hours settling in and then got a bit bored so I decided to go for a swim.  It was lovely and I had a good shake all over the place afterwards.  That was much better, it felt like home now.

I was enjoying shaking myself all over the lounge when Annie said we could go for a walk. Fine idea!   I had trouble getting in the boot of the car but I just about managed it and then we had to get Chris from work before we went to the park.

It was such fun.  I made 2 new friends and found an old ball that I chewed into nothing and then I had a paddle in the stream.

Fun in the park

Well, I was so excited that I wore myself out and I couldn't get back in the boot of the car so Chris and Annie let me sit on the floor in the back of the car.  That's great because I can rest my muzzle on the space between the front seats.

I had a much-needed rest after supper but I had to go out for a pipi before they locked up.  I really didn't want to and I made sure they could hear my sighs!!

I was SO tired

I slept in the kitchen and I was on my best behaviour.  I made sure that the guards didn't disturb Chris and Annie in the middle of the night by barking at them to be quiet.  Annie came to congratulate me on my vigilance.

This morning we took Chris to work and then went for a quick walk because Annie said she had to go out.  I didn't think this was fair because I wanted her to play with my toys.  I really like Lucas the guard so my bed and bowl were put outside so that I could sit near him and guard the house.

When Chris and Annie came back, they had bought me some treats and some tennis balls.  They gave me one of the balls to play with but then wanted me to give it back.  What a cheek!!  I refused all enticements until I had chewed it into the shape I wanted.

Chris tried to creep up on me from behind to get the ball....

.....but I wouldn't give it up......
.
.......even when they sent me to bed!!!!

Then, when I got fed up of teasing them, I let them throw it for me a few times but soon I was ready for another doze.

Our evening walk was in a park called Blue Crane, it was fun but I was very tired afterwards.
